Every once in a while I get an email asking to explain how our sites work. The Date List, Gay Date List and College Date List all work the same way so this applies to all of them. I will break it down into categories so you can get an idea of what is going on.

Navigation:

If you are on any page and want to get back to the home page (also known as the main page and index page) just click on the “home” icon in the top right hand corner of the page.

If you need help click on the “question mark” icon in the top right hand corner of the page.

If you need to email us click on the “envelope” icon in the top right hand corner of the page.

To view ads for a specific city just click on the city link on the home page. The cities are listed alphabetically. Once you have reached the city page you can search the ads or sort them by category.

Posting Ads:

To post an ad just click on the Post Personal tab and you will be taken to the page to enter the info for your ad. Fill in the form and ad a photo if you like (adding a photo will get more responses) then click on the submit button. This takes you to a review page so you can see your ad. If it looks good hit the submit button and your ad is posted right away. if you want to change your ad either click the back button in your browser or edit the info below the ad (please note if you have a photo in your ad you need to re-add it to the ad again when editing or it will not show in your ad).

Once your ad has been submitted an email is sent to you with a confirmation link so that your email can be verified as valid and once you have confirmed the email addy your ad will go live on the site. In that email is also your password for that ad. Each ad has it’s own password which is needed to delete and/or edit your ad. If you lose your password go to your ad on the site and right below it you will see a password recovery link that will resend the password to you by email.

PLEASE NOTE that we can not send a password to an email other than the one that was used to post the ad. If you made a typo in your email for the ad you will need to post another ad.

When you receive replies to your ad they are anonymously forwarded to you by email. If you reply to an ad you are replying from your email account to the repliers email account and as such will no your email address so use an anonymous one such as Yahoo! or Gmail.

Responding To Ads:

When you come across and ad you wish to respond to just click on the link near the top of the ad next to “Reply To:” and this will open your email client. Type out your response and hit send and the reponse is sent to the site and then we forward it on to the poster. Ads posted under the older system that has now been replaced where we stored replies on the site are still viewable for 90 days (until Nov. 15, 2007).

Other Info:

There are no memberships to our sites. There are no fees. You do not need a credit card. All you have to do is post, read and reply to the personal ads.
